George Frederic Watts and George Frederic Handel shared the same name and the same birthday, although they were born 132 years apart. It is interesting to compare the lesser known colourful backgrounds to these two George Freds, both giants in their field, and explore the similarities and the diversities of their distinguished lives.
Enhanced by the paintings of G.F. Watts, courtesy the generosity of The Watts Gallery in Compton, Guildford, Surrey, this talk explores the background to the creation of some of the most fascinating paintings, sculpture and portraits of Watts and the divine music of Handel.
