Ellen Terry – Star Of The Silver Screen
Through the miracle of Silent Movies, Ellen Terry and her daughter Edith Craig are seen for the first time as they appeared, individually and sometimes together, in the Silent Movies from 1916-1922. During this talk, author ANN RACHLIN, who has searched the vaults of film archives all over the world, presents some fascinating clips Previously doomed to be forgotten, these priceless images of Ellen Terry and her daughter Edith Craig, both of whom acted in silent movies, were rescued from obscurity by Ann. This is a unique opportunity to see these historical excerpts and see how an ageing actress with fading eyesight and a poor memory, met the challenge of a new technology – Moving Pictures
As Silent Movies were usually enhanced by music played by a cinema pianist, this talk is sometimes accompanied by the celebrated musician, Iain Kerr.
